So, this was the last day of camp. I always feel so let down on this day. Even though I spent most of the past 4 weeks with other campers, there wasn't enough time to share writings with them. I also didn't have enough time to write for personal use. I feel this summer's camp truly made an impact in my personal writing because my inner poet emerged through demonstrations and encouragement from Patrick and Kristal. Who knew that I, a hater of poetry, would come to truly like, perhaps even love, to write in poetic form?
How do I incorporate even more writing in my classroom? Gosh- they have to write every day. Even saying that, though, makes me sound absolutely horrible! I have to MAKE them write? How about I give them time to write and share and write some more if they choose. I wish I could have the Beach Museum attached to my classroom.
If you have more ideas you are willing to have me steal please pass them along!
Mary, I'm so glad you started this! I love the idea of having Beach attached to your classroom! I'm thinking that I'm going to use internet sources a lot for my art this year. I think I also need to dig deeper into resources from online newspapers. You already have a head start on this because of all the ways you've used Flickr in the past. So much inspiration! Now to incorporate it every day!
